Museum

Yesterday afternoon was spent at Bexhill Museum, meeting with the very knowledgeable curator, Julian Porter.  Cross referencing research is highlighting many links between Bexhill (UK), Canada and Australia as well as themes of Brassey family associations.

Of particular relevance to next year’s WWI centenary (and that of the Museum’s) is the footage of Bexhill Training Camp (as was) which included Egerton Park and the Bexhill Museum building as well as parts of Cooden. The role and associations of Canadians in Bexhill is explored in much greater detail in the website of the same name: Canadians in Bexhill. A film made at the time also shows Bexhill in some of it’s earliest moving image footage, of Canadian officers in Training at Bexhill Camp, England. View film here
