Supported by Bexhill Museum, Palliser Regional Library (Saskatchewan, Canada), and De La Warr Pavilion, UK, ‘Bexhill To Bexhill’ set out to celebrate each Bexhill and the journeys in between.
Since leaving the UK, ‘Bexhill to Bexhill’ has connected with Artists Run Initiative ‘TarpSpace‘, Riverside Richmond Historical Society, and the Knitting Nannas Against Gas in Australia. Linking with Assiniboia Museum and Shurniak Gallery, Canada. State Libraries of the Northern Territories, Victoria and New South Wales, Australia have supported my research and brought brilliant and surprising coincidences. And Regional Municipality Offices in Saskatchewan have provided me with helpful maps and insights in Canada. Archives and Legislative libraries have been great centres for research in Regina, Canada. There have also been many many individuals who have also been of great support, valuable information and have become great friends.
Also of note is Via-Rail who very generously arranged all of my rail travel through Canada. For this I am truly grateful. Not only did they provide me with train tickets, they sent me in style, travelling business class. At the end of eleven months of travelling this was truly wonderful and I’m sure at least part of the reason I did not just collapse in a big messy heap on my return to the UK.
Events will be updated throughout the project as it continues to unfold, see ‘Events‘ page for details and follow on twitter or facebook. You can also get in touch with me at admin@bexhilltobexhill.com with any comments, requests, questions or offers of support.
